Did You Know?

Stanley Airport
…that during World War II, the Stanley Airport was built (1941) as part of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan? At the height of its operations, it trained four 30-student classes at the same time, whose students then went on to more advanced training elsewhere. Operations ceased with the end of the war.

About The East Hants Historical Society

The East Hants Historical Society, established in 1967, is a volunteer, non-profit organization devoted to the promotion and preservation of history within East Hants, NS, Canada.

Lower Selma Museum & Heritage Cemetery

Open June-September, 10am-5pm daily. Guided tours; archive available. Free admission. Located at 6971 Highway 215, Lower Selma, Hants Co., NS.

Archives & Research Centre

Off season only. Open weekly or by appointment. See our Facebook page for schedule. Located at 70 Park Road, Elmsdale.
